SHREE is Right, SHRI is Wrong

Mahaveer Sanglikar

Shree is an auspicious word in India, especially in Hinduism and Jainism. It is a honorific for men and used as 'Mister' before a man's name.

Many people spell the word as Shri, which is grammatically wrong. Also, it is wrong to use this spelling when we considers its numerical value.

S H R I = 1+8+9+9=27=2+7=9

In numerology, the number 9 is considered as number of struggle, obstacles and late success.

Now let us see the numerical value of Shree:

S H R E E = 1+8+9+5+5=28=2+8=10=1+0=1

In numerology, 1 is the best number in all the numbers, 1-9. The meaning of 1 is leadership, exploration, initiative and success.

So one should spell  the word as SHREE and not as SHRI.
